Swarnamahal opens 14th branch in Ratnapura today

Swarnamahal Jewellers Ltd., will open its 14th branch in Ratnapura today, a development that is certain to add more glitter to the land of gems, a spokesman for the company said.

He said the latest branch is part of Swarnamahal Jewellers aggressive expansion strategy to serve more customers who are in search of a reliable marketer of 22-karat quality jewellery at affordable prices. The Ratnapura branch will be the third for the year with the first two being Wattala and Gampaha. Next year the plan is to serve people in and surrounding areas of Kiribathgoda, Kurunegala and Kegalle. At present Swarnamahal is the largest jewellery retailer in Sri Lanka and its planned expansion would further reinforce this market leadership position.

Swarnamahal Jewellers Chairperson Mrs. Soma Edirisinghe will open the branch at Main Street, Ratnapura.

The Company's CEO Hafiz Rajudin said that the latest branch is significant in the sense that it would be the biggest in Ratnapura. The two-storey branch spanning 2,400 square feet of area will cater to the average customer as well as the high end but in separate floors.

"Swarnamahal will offer people in Ratnapura and those nearby quality and a variety of jewellery at affordable prices," Rajudin said.

"We can offer what customers want at affordable prices because of our highly automated jewellery manufacturing operations. The state of the art machinery eliminates the cost on craftsmanship benefit from which we pass on to the customer. Automated manufacture also ensures consistent quality. These characteristics of Swarnamahal along with the guarantee of purity of 22 karat gold are unmatched by other jewellery retailers," he said.

Indeed purity, quality and affordability have been the hallmarks of Swarnamahal, which has been the trusted name for jewellery in Sri Lanka by successive generations. "Jewellery is something special and personal hence must be of fine quality. Jewellery also gets passed on from generation to generation. We also understand that for the market to grow or to ensure more people own jewellery the affordability is critical. Therefore these needs and values are entrenched in our corporate vision and mission lived up to and delivered by our employees daily," Rajudin said.
